Notes on ingredients
Extra Firm Tofu - Make sure you buy the right tofu! If it says "silky" anywhere on it. This is not the type we want to use here. Watch my tofu 101 IG thread if you want more details, or watch my Tofu 101 blog! Always press tofu when using it this way.
Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, ground black pepper, and sea salt - these are just a few simple seasonings that add great flavor to tofu. I'll be sharing some other spice ideas below.
Cornstarch - our secret weapon for crispy tofu! The cornstarch helps draw out the excess liquid and gives the tofu a crunchy exterior.
Light Soy Sauce or Liquid Amino Acids - I prefer light soy sauce (or even liquid amino acids) because it's not salty. You can also use coconut acids.
Sesame Oil or Any Oil - While you don't technically need oil for an air fryer, I find that a little goes a long way while helping to get crispness, texture, and flavor.

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- ½ tablespoon light soy sauce, or liquid aminos
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil or any oil
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 lb block of extra firm tofu, pressed for 30 minutes then cut into 1” cubes, (16 oz.)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, place the pressed and cubed tofu. Add the liquid aminos and stir to coat. Add all the other seasoning ingredients including the oil and stir well.
- Place in the air fryer in a row, so all of the tofu has a little space around each piece. Set the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook for 10 minutes, shake the basket after 5 minutes, then continue cooking.
- Remove it after the tofu is cooked. Leave it to cool for a few minutes, then serve it. Enjoy!
